On Wednesday 20th November we will be hosting an IAS Friends and Fellows Coffee Morning, where we will be joined by IAS Residential Fellows Dr Arnoud ArpsDr Maria Carinnes Alejandria, and Fulbright Scholarship Fellow Dr Sarah Jewett.

Dr Arnoud Arps, University of Amsterdam

Arnoud Arps is an Assistant Professor of Extended Cinema, Film Heritage and Memory at the University of Amsterdam’s Media Studies department and Academic Staff Member at the Amsterdam School for Heritage, Memory and Material Culture. Prior to this he was a Niels Stensen Postdoctoral Fellow in Postcolonial and Memory Studies consecutively affiliated with the University of Oxford hosted by Elleke Boehmer and the University of California, Los Angeles hosted by Michael Rothberg. 

Dr Maria Carinnes Alejandria, Universiti Brunei Darussalam

Maria Carinnes Alejandria is an anthropologist specializing in disaster governance and health inequalities in Southeast Asia. Dr Alejandria is an Assistant Professor at Universiti Brunei Darussalam. She completed her PhD in Anthropology at the University of the Philippines Diliman, where her research focused on the intersection of food insecurity and flood vulnerability among older adults in an informal settlement in Manila.
