Lenka Vr谩bl铆kov谩鈥檚 work lies at the intersection of cultural studies, gender studies, transnational feminisms, environmental humanities, critical theory, and modern and contemporary visual culture. Her work focuses on the study of visual ethnomycology; the university and (anti)disciplinarity; gender and race in postsocialist art and art education, and the role of the body in deconstructive and feminist thought.
Lenka completed studies in Fine Arts (BA at the University of Ostrava, MA at the Brno University of Technology) in the Czech Republic, and Cultural Studies (MA and PhD) at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. In 2018, she was one of the 15 scholars who received The University of Leeds Women of Achievement Award. Currently she is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The College of Human Sciences at the University of South Africa. She is a co-founder of 賳 爻賵賷 丞丕賱 賯乇丕卅 丕鬲 卮 亘 賰 丞 /Sdru啪en铆 feministick媒ch 膷ten铆/Feminist Readings Network, an initiative that provides a trans-lingual and trans-national space to explore reading with feminist, queer, and anti-racist thought, art and pedagogy.
Lenka鈥檚 work has been published in journals such as Australian Feminist Studies, Gender and Education, Journal of Visual and Cultural Studies and parallax. Forthcoming publications include an article 鈥極thering Mushrooms: An eco-feminist intervention in European (neo)nationalisms鈥�, an article on feminist interventions in Czech art schools, and a co-authored article with Motlatsi Khosi on collective decolonial reading.
