The aim of this module is to introduce you to the principles, concepts and key issues of managing the risks of disasters in developing countries. Unlike other distance learning modules, this module is delivered principally through guided reading notes and the module tutor's text book 'Disaster Risk Reduction for the Built Environment'.

The primary text for this module is Disaster Risk Reduction for the Bulit Environment which will be sent by post to registered students. The publication is also at an additional cost.
